(PRWEB) April 23, 2006 -- Black Pride will be celebrated in Houston May 4th through May 7th. FlowerCat Productions is the lesbian host of the first “Affinity 2006” event. The organization began by providing a safe space for lesbians to meet, mingle, network, and party. The outcome of their past events has been an overwhelming demand for mature entertainment for progressive lesbians. A portion of all proceeds support charitable organizations. “Giving back, for FlowerCat Productions is mandatory not an option”. Our motto is “To Give, To Lead and To Inspire”, says co-founder Opral V. Wisham.

The premier sponsor of the Affinity weekend is Doctor’s Pharmacy. Doctor’s Pharmacy is owned and operated by an African-American female, Gigi Barclay. Shenill Johnson, co-founder of FlowerCat Productions, was elated about the philanthropist donation from Doctors Pharmacy in support of Affinity 2006. Obtaining African-American sponsors for a lesbian event is phenomenal. The organization, “Lesbians In Progress (LIPS), will also support the event with a sponsorship and volunteers. FlowerCat will campaign throughout the year for sponsors for various events as well as support for charitable organizations in the Houston metropolitan area.

The Affinity weekend begins on May 4th at Bocados for “Taboo Thursday”. Bocados is located at 1312 W. Alabama. The owner Terry Flores will provide food and a complimentary drink to participants.

The event will move to Ellen Ray’s on May 5th located at 1924 Calumet for “Chocolate Soul2Soul Friday”. Ellen Ray’s atmosphere is elegant, and the food heaven on the tongue. They are open on Thursday’s for dinner, but call for reservations. The restaurant will be transformed on Friday for the Meet and Greet event.

Whip Crème Saturday is a pool party and cookout at The Mansion starting at 2:00 P.M. The Zorina Estate resides on over an acre with vast trees and a luscious pool. This taste of country life is within the Houston city limits at 1102 Briar Bayou. Guest are asked to bring chair or blanket.

The finale is at Club Fabulous, 1927 Scott. The club is located south of downtown. It has a 600 plus capacity. Newly renovated with flat screen televisions, VIP vicinity, Cigar Room and two levels for dancing, mingling and networking. This venue is absolutely stunning.

All events start at 10:00 P.M. except Whip Crème Saturday. Tickets for the event are currently available via PayPal. Local guest may request tickets by calling (832) 289-5440 or (832) 457-9643.
