New, original graduation poems recently posted at http://www.poemsource.com celebrate the graduate's accomplishment with appreciation and approval in the form of rhyming greeting card poems.
"People who know students graduating want to commemorate the event, often with a gift, but a poem says much more," says poemsource.com greeting card poet Joanna Fuchs. "The messages in these poems are designed to encourage, inspire and celebrate the graduate."
As with all poemsource.com pages, most of the the poems on the graduation page are rhyming poems. "The rhythmic, melodic qualities of metered rhyming poems touch something instinctively pleasurable within us," says Fuchs, "and they are returning to popularity."
Fuchs says she’s been writing greeting card poems since she was a little kid. "When I was about eight years old, I made greeting cards for my family and wrote my own rhymes for them," she says, "and I'm still doing it. The site is about 18 months old, and I just keep writing more and more poems for it."
Here's a sample graduation poem:
If You Believe
Your diploma means a future without boundaries,
A world that's full of energy and fun.
So as you reach for all life has to offer,
Remember that you're second to no one.
Pursue your goals, yet keep your loved ones close,
As you utilize your talent and ambition.
Let your friends and family give you their support,
And you'll master every challenging transition.
And always, (graduate's name), know you can achieve
The things you really want, if you believe.
By Joanna Fuchs
