Traveling to Tucson, Arizona Ms. McCown-Guard photographed Jay Conrad Levinson, founder of Guerilla Marketing (http://www.gmarketing.com). In addition to the cover image Ms. McCown-Guard has 3 additional images appearing with the feature article.
She states, “It was a pleasure to work for the American Marketing Association. Not only are they such a prestigious organization, but I had the opportunity to photograph one of my idols, Jay Conrad Levinson. The whole shoot was a real thrill for me.” Often, location is a major concern for any photographer and this shoot was no exception. “The art director for the AMA had a definite look in mind for the images he wanted, so I wanted to come as close to that as I could” states Ms. McCown-Guard
She continues by stating, “Since we shot at an RV park, I was limited in what I could do. So with creative angles and utilizing natural light, I got the wide open feeling of the Southwest and captured the unique personality of the subject.” As a freelance photographer, Marnie McCown-Guard is used to shooting a wide variety of subjects in all manner of lighting situations. Being flexible and open to the clients ideas is what guarantees success.
“I work very hard to give each client exactly what they want. Consultation is a key element in every assignment and I will discuss the project goals with the client well before the shoot to ensure that we have a common vision.” Operating under the trade name, Crescendo Photography, she provides outstanding imagery from product shots to portraiture, editorial to event. As she puts it, “I rely on my equipment and experience to get the images the client needs, but when it gets right down to it, my business Is all about listening the client wants, and that is usually unique imagery that comes in on time and on budget.”
