Global Security Associates has appointed Victor Anderes as vice president overseeing the company’s new business expansion into emergency response planning services. Anderes will be responsible for developing programs to meet the needs of businesses and industry in advance of natural and man-made disasters. “Victor brings years of experience to Global as we formalize new service offerings from our company. These programs were developed out of our extensive emergency preparedness training for companies located in the Gulf region of the U.S. during the last year’s devastating hurricane season,” states Will McGuire, president and CEO of the Mineola-based company.
Global Security Associates, LLC, assists businesses and facilities in planning for emergencies that are both natural and man-made. “Never has the vulnerabilities been more apparent than during the hurricane season of 2005 where the difference in survival, in some cases, came down to preparing multiple plans for the unthinkable,” explains McGuire. GSA assists companies in all facets of emergency response planning and training. The company’s services include assessing for risks that may pose a threat and/or enhancing safety features to reduce liability concerns. A detailed site assessment of the property is conducted to ensure a client’s best interest is represented. “GSA works with your company to educate everyone in the latest training protocol as well as adhering to all federal, state and local fire and safety codes,” explains Anderes, adding, “Our approach to emergency preparedness includes the ability to offer specific training services in life safety training for safety directors and building staff which will include planning for evacuations under the supervision of experienced trainers.”
Anderes was an assistant vice president with Virgin Atlantic Airways responsible for the company’s security and emergency planning in North America and the Caribbean. “I will be working with the Global team on new projects that involve new approaches to corporate security and emergency response training with existing and new clients. Our primary focus will be on security consulting, training and emergency response training for companies in need,” explains Anderes.
During the hurricane season of 2005 Global Security Associates assisted its clients in securing property and preserving life during one of the U.S. most destructive storm seasons every recorded. “While we had worked with clients in the Gulf region long before the hurricanes struck, we were there for weeks assessing the damage to property, assisting the U.S government and offering on-going services to companies in the area. The lessons we learned as specialists in emergency contingency planning inspired us to take a closer look at the growing need of companies as the next hurricane season approaches,” comments McGuire.
