Products sold by home based business owners are often of questionable quality and value. Overpriced tax advice, motivational material, digital e-books of dubious quality and expensive vitamins are just a few of the items offered by a growing legion of entrepreneurs who work from home.
Many offer a so called product, not because they feel it is worth the money, but to avoid being identified as a gifting scam.
On a recent conference call, Coastal Vacations Director Dean Marino was anxious to answer questions about the value and quality of his travel products. Marino hosts Discovery Q&A conference calls for the most successful and fastest growing group in the Coastal program. His group's popularity has skyrocketed, in part, because they offer a simple system that requires no personal selling. Members feel the Sales Center provides the maximum support possible.
Marino explained the origin of the Coastal travel products. The most basic package they offer has been sold by resort properties for over 27 years. Often the resorts sell that basic package as an exit product to those prospects that did not purchase a timeshare after sitting through a sales presentation. The package sold by Marino's group for under $2000 is often marketed by the resorts for $3000, $3500 or more.
Coastal Vacations has offered the lifetime vacation memberships for over 11 years as a home based business. They have continued to improve it over time, and have added two upgraded memberships in response to the demand of their members.
Marino explained that he came to Coastal after a 25 year career in sales, sales management and sales training.
Marino recalled; "When I started my Coastal business, it was very clear to me that well honed sales skills and lots of time would be required to attain success. I quickly noticed that teaching selling techniques was the agenda on training calls and the live conference in Florida. I worked 6 or 7 days a week, putting in 10 to 12 hour days. I prospected and made a brief presentation over the phone. I then led prospects to websites, on line movies, and conference calls with several follow up calls. I did 3-way calls with my sponsor for validation and tried to close sales. Even with all my experience, it took me 3 1/2 weeks to close my first sale. The average new associate devotes about 10 hours a week to the business. At that rate, it would take them over 6 months to turn a profit, and most give up by then."
That's very different from the way Marino operates his business today. These days he does not call to track people down. In fact, Marino rarely talks with new members until they have made a commitment by joining his business. Those that do talk with him before making a financial commitment have to track him down, now that he has become somewhat of a guru for an ultra-successful business model that has become not only the talk of the Coastal Vacations world, but the entire home based business arena.
The California based Level 3 Director now devotes time to traveling and has become an ambassador for Coastal Vacations, and his winning business model. He hosts training calls for his group every week. He also hosts live Q&A conference calls and co-hosted the first ever Coastal Vacations podcast right from the floor at the most recent Coastal Vacations conference in Florida. He recently published an article to help potential home based business owners avoid the most common scams aimed at them.
Coastal Vacations travel products have compiled an impressive track record for quality. The packages are sold in over 70 countries worldwide.
