The series was dreamed up by Counter's owner, Deborah Gavito, who explains, "At Counter, we've always believed that vegetarian food - and environmentalism -- don't have to be dull or patchouli'ish. They can be stylish & enjoyable -- over half of our regular customers are even carnivores! We've met so many cool people at the restaurant, as well as amazing winemakers & farmers, that this is a way of being able to share what we're doing and what they're doing."
