Tell a girlfriend! The book that is "telling it like it is" with unflinching courage, wit and literary style when dealing with men, midlife and motherhood.

Katherine Shirek Doughtie, the author of "Aphrodite in Jeans: Adventure Tales about Men, Midlife and Motherhood" will be appearing at the Festival of Books in the Aphrodite in Jeans Booth #108, Saturday, April 29 - Sunday, April 30. 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

An iPod Nano will be raffled off to a lucky winner. One contest entry for every book purchased at the festival.

This book has captured the delight of pre-boomers and baby boomers with its honest, "hold nothing back" style that women from individuals to groups, United States to Europe relate to easily. Women have been caught reading this book on a plane, in a salon, in their car, at Yoga studios, the beach, the internationally known landmark, Shakespeare in Paris and in groups where women gather.

Sample essays include:

  • You Had Me at 'No' - "I love a good puzzle and I don't mind a challenge..."
  • The Words - "I loved his words. His words didn't just move; they were break dancers on the hot sidewalks of New York..."
  • Teach Your Children - "I would never have left the inertial comfort of my living room to just see the snow..."
  • The Napalm Incident - "So, why do you shave?" asked Antonia The Skin Goddess...
  • The Berm - "We settle in on the beach, picking a place right where the sand slopes down to meet the water..."
  • Context Sensitivity - "The paramedics burst into the restaurant, their bright bulky uniforms creating instant chaos..."
