Also called the “Oscars of the Internet” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, which was established in 1996, distinguishes sites and teams in over 65 categories that demonstrate a high standard of excellence. The NAS site, which was chosen from more than 5,500 sites entered by 50 states and 40 countries, was recognized for superior content, ease of navigation, functional technology, relevant visual design, good interactivity, and overall positive experience. Fewer than 20% of all entries were chosen for this accolade.
