Free Construction Stock Photography Website Surpasses 1,000 Pictures
Construction Photographs.com has increased its collection of free construction stock photography to more than 1,000 photos. There is no charge to use the photographs, in print or in electronic form. The only requirement is that Construction Photographs receives a photo credit and (in electronic applications) a link back to its website for each use of each photograph.
Arlington, Texas (PRWEB) May 1, 2006 -- Construction Photographs (www.constructionphotographs.com) has announced that its online collection of free construction-related stock photographs has now topped 1,000 photographs.
The photographs feature all phases in the construction process, including: sitework, concrete slab preparation, tilt-up construction, various skills and trades, finishes, special construction, equipment and mechanical work. Taken with a 6 Mega Pixel Prosumer camera, the photos are large enough to use in publications and other print documents, and can be resized down for use on websites and computer presentations.
Construction Photographs is funded by Bob Moore Construction, a commercial general contractor located in Arlington, Texas. All photos on this site were taken by Jeff Schaefer, Information Manager for Bob Moore Construction. Over the past 25 years, hundreds of Schaefer's architectural, construction, portrait, product and news photographs have appeared in print and electronic advertising and in a wide variety of nationally distributed magazines.
The photos are organized into the CSI Divisions of Construction Specifications and the collection can be searched for specific keywords. Site visitors can scan through thumbnail-sized photos and view larger “preview” versions for more detail. When they find a photo they want, they submit a brief form (name and email address) and receive a link to the full size image in their email. The preview versions are watermarked with Construction Photograph’s copyright information; the full size images are provided without charge and are not watermarked.
“We opened Construction Photographs in September, 2004 with just under 500 photographs,” said Jeff Schaefer, photographer and webmaster for Construction Photographs. “Since then the size of our collection has doubled, and over the past year and a half we’ve delivered more than 5,000 photos. Our pictures have appeared in books, magazines, training guides, TV commercials, advertising materials and on websites and in electronic presentations. They have been displayed at national construction conventions and on websites like www.constructioncompany.com and www.realestatedeveloper.com. No one has ever paid for the use of our pictures, other than simply providing a link back to our website.”
There is no charge to use the photographs, in print or in electronic form. The only requirement is that Construction Photographs receives a photo credit and (in electronic applications) a link back to its website for each use of each photograph.
“Use of the photographs is free – not royalty free, but free,” said Schaefer. “There are no hidden costs or charges later on. We understand that privacy is a serious concern for many; we make it very clear that we do not compile mail lists or sell user names to spammers. More than 5,000 requests have been submitted; not one requester has ever received any spam or advertising communications as a result. All we want in return are the photo credits and links back to our site. Our goal is to drive more traffic to our site and get our name out there. Allowing free use of our photos is the best way to accomplish that.”
