Sun Surveillance SolsticeCam to Continue Highlighting Charity Golf Events across South Carolina
Sun Surveillance highlights Touchtone Charity Golf Events with new Solar Powered Wireless Video Surveillance
Charleston, SC (PRWEB) May 3, 2006 -- The last week in April is an exciting time of participation for Sun Surveillance Inc., as well as thousands of golf enthusiasts along the coast of South Carolina. As the annual pilgrimage of millions of tourists brings excitement to the area, others have even more to be excited about. Golfers, from the most apathetic to the most avid, come out in droves to Patriot’s Point Golf Links located on the waters edge of the historic Charleston Harbor for their shot at becoming an instant millionaire.
Berkeley Electric Cooperative, a subsidiary of Touchstone Energy, hosts this annual charity fundraiser, giving golfers the opportunity to win one million dollars if they are fortunate enough to hit a hole-in-one. Golfers of every kind sign up for this three day event hoping that they can turn their donation into one million dollars. If golfers do fall short of qualifying for the chance to hit a Hole-In-One, they can take solace in the fact that their contribution is for a good cause, the non-profit organization, The Charleston Miracle Network.
Though Sun Surveillance Inc. plays a small role in the event, being able to bring something new and exciting to the experience is certainly gratifying. Sun Surveillance Inc., one of the fastest growing surveillance companies in South Carolina, has volunteered their equipment and expertise in the field of wireless solar powered surveillance technology to enhance the experience for all participants.
For the first time, Sun Surveillance combines both solar power and wireless technology to provide real-time video of the green so participants and onlookers can easily view their shots from a 42” Plasma Television that is on display. The wireless solar powered surveillance camera system known as SolsticeCam, is positioned just off the green. The camera operates 24 hours a day solely on the power of the sun and video is transmitted instantaneously back to the tee area where onlookers can witness approaching shots to the flag.
After contacting Laurens Electric Cooperative, who raises money for the Children's Miricle Network, with the idea of wanting to provide the event with real-time video they were happy to accept. The first event of the year was so well received that Laurens Electric Cooperative contacted other Touchtone subsidiaries, each of whom host similar hole-in-one charities to tell them about the features Sun Surveillance offered.
“Having participated in the hole-in-one event in the past, it occurred to us that with our technology, our company could perhaps provide this event with an additional feature that everyone could enjoy“ states Charlie Dobbins of Sun Surveillance. “We decided that we wanted to do our part and volunteer our efforts for this cause. Because of this event, we have established a great relationship with the community and we couldn’t be any happier with the way we have been received. Our hope is that this will be the beginning of a great relationship in which we are involved in helping our community participate in donating for a great cause.”
