Almighty helps Walden Media Ensure that Kids 'Give a Hoot'
Launches online tie-ins to new film
(PRWEB) May 3, 2006 -- Almighty announced today the launch of a series of online promotions for Walden Media, aimed at promoting Walden's new feature film, 'Hoot', prior to the film's May 5 theatrical release.
Both integrated into Walden Media's existing website at http://www.walden.com/web/teach/hoot and distributed to online channels at AOL Kids/KOL and Funology, the promotions center on the environmental awareness inherent to the film – and the Carl Hiassen book from which the screenplay was adapted. The Walden Media Endangered Species Map, created in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation, invites students to explore the plight of endangered species in their own communities, while exploring student-run programs across the country. The Hoot Habitat Generator allows students and educators to generate unique habitats, exploring the relative compatibility of various strains of wildlife, vegetation and biomes.
“Hoot presents Walden Media with a fantastic opportunity to deliver on both the educational and entertainment components of their brand, “ said Ian Fitzpatrick, Partner, Almighty. “The chance to partner with the NWF to help create work that truly exists outside of traditional film marketing channels was an exciting one – an opportunity validated, we think, by the interest in these promotions by the likes of AOL and Funology.”
"The feedback from educators regarding the Hoot online activities has been tremendous," said Francis X. Flaherty, Jr., EVP of Walden Media. "Once again, Almighty has helped Walden Media achieve its dual goals of entertainment and education."
