Normandie Casino: A Good Place to Work

Normandie Casino offers Massages to employees

Gardena, CA (PRWEB) May 3, 2006 -- Since 1947, the Normandie Casino has employed various ethnicities, from Asian to Russian, Mexican, Spanish, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Chinese, Korean, Check Republic and Indonesian. The Casino is open 24 hour a day, 7 Days a week and 365 day a year and has been serving the South Bay Community for over six Decades.

Normandie Casino, decided to do something radical in today’s business world this May 1st. What’s that you ask? The answer is showing appreciation to all our employees with complementary massages, food, and a quite area for them to take a break.

In light of the recent news telling all employees to walk off the job on Monday, May 1st as a way of demonstrating how important employees who were once immigrants are. Normandie Casino management decided to go the extra mile in showing how we value our employees instead. The Normandie Casino will be offering employees an Appreciation Day-Stress Free with free massages employees can sign up for from 8am to noon, food, snacks, etc.

“The company did not want to trample on anyone’s right to express themselves either, so those employees wishing to take the day off in protest will be granted time off on a “first come first serve” basis.” Meredith Miller, Head of Human Resources

“Should you decide to not work on Monday, May 1st, we welcome you to fill a seat in one of our Poker Chairs or come check out various specials & our new menu items.” Mario Esperaza, Food & Beverage Operation’s Director.

“The Great American Boycott” is the latest in demonstrations ignited by the passage of a House of Representative bill on Dec. 16 that would convert an estimated 11 milloin to 12 million illegal immigrants into instant felons.

What is the goal?
Activist hope to the boycott will showcase immigrants’ contributions to the U.S. economy and show wide-spread opposition to proposed laws they believe would hypocritically punish illegal immigrants without owning up to the U.S. role in encouraging them to come.

They hope protests, along with lobbying businesses, will persuade the Senate, where legislation stalled last month, to pass alternative reform.
