Rochester, NY (PRWEB) May 9, 2006
Pharos Systems International, the leading provider of Enterprise Print Asset Management software solutions, announces the release of Uniprint 7.1, which incorporates several key enhancements to its cutting-edge mobile printing technology.
Uniprint 7.1 includes important updates designed to improve upon its already robust mobile printing feature, PrintHere™. Once users install a printer package on their laptops, PrintHere™ enables those users to print a document from anywhere on campus or in an office complex, and pick up the print job at the device that is most convenient for them.
Responding to customer requests, the Pharos development team has now made it easier than ever before to quickly and easily install and identify multiple printer packages. When a site administrator attempts to install a Uniprint 7.1 mobile printing printer package on a PC, the administrator can now specify a different name for the printers installed for each spool queue. This makes it easy for users to locate the printer to which they’ve sent their document by its identifying name.
Uniprint 7.1 also includes several enhancements to its job costing feature, which Pharos developers have made more user-friendly by simplifying the configuration and use of different cost-per-page rates for color printers, copiers, MFPs, and large-format plotters. The continued double-digit growth of color devices in the Higher Education and the Office markets and the insightful suggestions from many of our customers made this an important requirement for this latest release.
Geoff Shaw, President of Pharos Systems, says “It is our desire that our customers have access to the best product in the market. We continue to strive to improve our industry-leading Uniprint software solution, incorporating customer requests and recommendations into new releases. Uniprint 7.1 is a testament to the dedication and skill of our development team.”
Pharos Uniprint is the first choice for those organizations serious about leveraging the print management and cost recovery opportunities that exist through proper management of organizational assets. Pharos experience has shown that through judicious management, colleges and universities can recover as much as 30-50% of printing and copying costs and reduce waste by 50-80%. Similarly, corporations can enhance their employee printing services while reducing costs 20-40%.
