Experience 365 Days of Divine Comfort in Parker’s Stirring Book of Religious Reflections
Discover a deeper meaning to life and a richer spiritual sustenance with Harris H. Parker’s Daily Reflections on Life, Death, and Destiny
Columbia, South Carolina (PRWEB) May 7, 2006 -- Be inspired and enriched by one of Harris H. Parker’s musings in Daily Reflections on Life, Death and Destiny each day of the year. Personal and profound, Parker’s Biblical citations, prayers and reflections offer solace on every page.
Parker began the book by writing his faith-based thoughts to his beloved daughter, Susanne. But when Susanne died at the young age of 27, Parker began to delve deeper into the mysteries of his beliefs. How do we deal with tragedy in our life and still feel the breath of God? How do we hang onto hope? What Parker found was a fresh interpretation of his faith and a more profound optimism, even “when the news is disappointing.”
Wise and illuminating, this is a book that reveals the miraculous amidst the mundane. From contemplating the changing of the seasons, to remembering his favorite mornings, each musing of Parker’s serves as a springboard to spiritual issues. Opening with a Biblical citation and closing with a suitable prayer, every commentary is so rich and comforting, it is a blessing in itself.
Deeply personal and honest, and written over a decade, these reflections reveal Parker’s deeper spiritual awakening. A progressive Christian, Parker reaches out to persons of all faiths and persuasions, particularly those searching for more meaning in their lives. All should find hope, faith and renewed purpose in these day-by-day devotions, and as James in The Bible said, they might “Count it all Joy."
