Corporate training is not a new concept, but corporations are forever looking for ways to employ it where it might appeal more to the employees. Joy Gendusa, Founder and CEO of PostcardMania, employed the Hubbard Management System for her corporate training and created an in-house academy for her company where her 120+ employees could improve their on-the-job skills. HR Magazine’s article “Just-in-Time Training”, mentions corporate trainers who have begun to capitalize on the ease of the technology. The key question is whether or not the technology can be useful for employee training.

By employing this study method in all seminars and presentations, a recent seminar delivered to CSRs regarding how to handle upset customers turned out immediate results. One employee claimed, “By using the methods I learned in the seminar, I am able to get an upset customer "out" of anger, get out the communication I need, and have it understood. Gendusa utilized a State Incumbent Worker Training Grant that she was awarded from the Workforce Florida in Pinellas County to establish her in-house academy where 75% of their corporate training expenses will be reimbursed to PostcardMania up to $19,000. 50% of her employees will be trained through a segment of their curriculum by June 2006.

State Representative, Kimberly Berfield, stated in a letter to PostcardMania’s VP Quality Control, “I was happy to learn this grant will provide training for your employees, enabling them to upgrade their skills, thereby helping to keep your business competitive.”
