Richmond, VA (PRWEB) May 9, 2006
Family members and fans have contributed their time and resources to provide a new Web site dedicated to Elliott Yamin, one of the top four American Idol® contestants for the current season. Regardless of whether Elliott wins, he will participate in the American Idols Live Tour 2006 which is scheduled to hit approximately 40 cities this summer. And following the tour, Elliott's family and fans hope he will use his amazing voice to become a successful recording artist.
The Yamin Machine! fan site will become available on Monday, May 8 to initially provide a forum for fans to access current information relating to Elliott Yamin. The Web site will begin with a segment entitled "Vote Like Yamin It!" which will provide tips to his fans on voting for their Idol.
As has been reported in numerous blogs and in the media, the American Idol® voting process can be a bit confusing and unfair if the fans do not understand the rules and the procedures. For instance, some voters do not know how to send text messages or how to efficiently vote multiple times. And text message votes are not counted if they are not sent from a Cingular subscriber. After learning about how Raleigh North Carolina fans of Clay Aiken experienced problems with busy phone lines, the Richmond Virginia fans of Elliott Yamin want to make sure everyone knows how to best get their votes in so they count. This segment will provide the information to help Elliott's fans vote effectively.
Everyone who is a fan of Elliot's is encouraged to visit the new Web site at http://YaminMachine.com on Tuesday to review the tips on voting and to leave a message for Elliott to let him know how you will be voting for him this Tuesday after he performs his two songs for the Elvis-themed week. An e-mail contact form (YaMessage) is provided on the Web site to send messages to Elliott.
Fans can also download one of the t-shirt transfers provided to print and iron onto their shirts to show support for Elliott. The colorful graphics were created by Canadian artist Michela Alessi.
Links will be provided to the diabetes organizations which Elliot supports in the greater Richmond Virginia area, should fans wish to make a contribution online to fight juvenile and adult-onset diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association®, there are 20.8 million children and adults in the United States, or 7% of the population, who have diabetes. While an estimated 14.6 million have been diagnosed with diabetes, unfortunately, 6.2 million people (or nearly one-third) are unaware that they have the disease. Elliott has stated that one of his goals in life is to educate people about the disease, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation has recognized him for his efforts in doing just that.
Future first sections of the Web site are planned to include an area with information about Elliott (YaMan), information about his music and scheduled appearances (YaMusic) and a forum where fans will be able to interact online (MYamin). This Web site is not commercial and will not be selling anything under the current plans.
