Many recording artists, who were once known for their excesses, are now putting a positive face on recovery, creating great music without the use of drugs or alcohol.

SunlightOfTheSpiritMusic.com is the brainchild of Nashville songwriter, author, and music publicist Gracie Hollombe Vandiver. Vandiver combined her passion for music and her love of living a clean and sober lifestyle, creating the online boutique as a way to lend support for talented artists in recovery.
"These artists are putting a positive face on recovery" says Vandiver. "Many of the artists with CDs for sale on the site are recognizable from being in the spotlight in a former lifetime. I grew up listening to their music as the soundtrack to my youth. They're still around and they're creating great music, only now they don't need drugs or alcohol."
She hopes Sunlight of the Spirit Music will have a positive influence on newly-clean and sober musicians who may be facing the same fear she faced during her first year of sobriety, over fourteen years ago. "I had been carrying around a lot of fear about not being able to create music without the aid of drugs or alcohol. Then, I went to hear a sober friend perform at a club in L.A. There was this one moment -- my friend was on stage and I thought to myself, wow, if she can do it, I can do it."
