Balanced Alternative Techniques ry ("B.A.T. ry"), an award-winning Finnish organization dedicated to the development of free massively multiplayer games (MMORPGs) announced today that it has entered into collaboration with Mythicscape, a Swedish company with expertise in the field of java client development. The collaboration will provide the players of B.A.T. ry’s flagship game ("BatMUD", http://www.bat.org/) with improved gaming capabilities utilizing the existing game infrastructure, as well as provide an easy entry for new players.
"Traditionally text multiplayer games have provided a deeper and more detailed gaming experience than their graphical counterparts, but have been hindered by a steep learning curve", said Tomi Valkeinen, chairman of B.A.T. ry. "With Mythicscape’s expertise in client development, we will be able to bring an easy-to-use graphical interface to our players free of charge, without sacrificing the depth of possibilities the gaming platform offers".
