Airing every Wednesday until June 14th, the Silver Anvil series will highlight some of the 101 finalists selected from the 754 entries in the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) 2006 Silver Anvil Awards.

The Silver Anvil Awards program recognizes the most outstanding public relations programs planned and executed each year. Featuring a different finalist each week, the series will air live on Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. on http://www.WebmasterRadio.FM through June 14th. All Silver Anvil Awards are announced at the Silver Anvil Awards Evening held in New York City on June 8, 2006.

The latest "CoverStory" guests include Christina Gurnak and Mark Bachmann of Marcus Thomas LLC, representing the 2005 CMJ Rock Hall Music Fest nomination; and Bruce Pozzi of Bruce Pozzi Public Relations, representing their efforts for the General Contractors of Alaska (AGC) campaign.

Hosted by PRWeb's President and CEO David McInnis, PRWeb's Executive Vice President Mick Jolly and Brandy Shapiro-Babin, "CoverStory" teaches the latest principles of public relations and features appearances by powerhouses in the PR field. This week's edition of "CoverStory" airs Wednesday, May 10th at 2:30 p.m. EST. All WebmasterRadio.FM shows are available in podcast, mobilecast and archived format at http://www.WebmasterRadio.FM.

"The Silver Anvil Series highlights the best of the best, something that WebmasterRadio.FM strives to present and create in its programming," stated Brandy Shapiro-Babin, WebmasterRadio.FM's Vice President of Marketing. "With two exemplary guests, the latest edition of 'CoverStory' is no exception. We trust that these finalists will inspire our listeners with examples of their exceptional public relations efforts."

Senior Account Executive Christina Gurnak and Partner Mark Bachmann of Marcus Thomas LLC will discuss the 2005 CMJ Rock Hall Music Fest campaign. Joining the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the promotion aimed to attract a large number of out-of-town young rockers to the concert event, successfully impacting the local economy. According to economic impact data released by the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland, the first year of the planned-to-be-annual, collaborative event generated more than $3 million in "economic impact" for Cleveland. Because of the great and overall success of the concerts, the CMJ Rock Hall Music Fest will return to Cleveland in 2006.

Bruce Pozzi, APR, Fellow PRSA and President of Bruce Pozzi Public Relations since its formation in 1977, will discuss the General Contractors of Alaska (AGC) campaign, designed to improve the image of the construction industry and encourage more young Alaskans to consider a career in construction. Results showed a 13.7% perception change and a significant earned media credibility and placement, and AGC is now in the third year of this on-going program. The campaign won PRSA Alaska Chapter’s 2005 Aurora Award’s Best Public Relations Campaign, and the AGC of America’s 2006 Best Individual Public Relations Campaign.

The Silver Anvil Awards program has grown in scope and stature since its inception in 1946, and awards are now given in 56 categories and subcategories. To date, more than 1,000 organizations have received Silver Anvils for excellence in strategic public relations planning and implementation. The Silver Anvil is annually awarded to organizations that have successfully addressed a contemporary issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness, execution and evaluation.
