Just two hours after joining internet bingo site, ThinkBingo.com, the 20-year-old Sainsbury’s worker won two thousand pounds.
Jamie, from Eccleshill, registered with the site and used £10 to start playing Bingo games.
Two hours later he won £2,000, believed to be fastest cover-all prize in the history of online Bingo in the UK.
Jamie, a customer, training and support manager at his local Sainsbury’s in Eccleshill is overjoyed at his win.
He said: “I play Bingo at my local pub, the Cricketers Arms, but only decided to register with Think Bingo on Sunday as my girlfriend Zoë is always playing and I was bored.”
The decision paid off and after only two hours, Jamie realised he’d scooped the big prize.
“I registered with the site and put on £10, bought some bingo cards then suddenly the ThinkBingo.com website started flashing up my name saying I’d won. I was gobsmacked!
“I called Zoë straight away but she didn’t believe me! Then I called my mates and they didn’t believe me either! I had to wait for Zoe to get home to show her I wasn’t kidding.”
A Think Bingo spokesman said: “We are thrilled with Jamie’s win. We are convinced it is the fastest-ever cover-all win in the history of our industry.
“He’s certainly set a record for us – £2,000 in two hours – which is great considering he only put down £10. We wish him all the best and hope he enjoys his winnings.”
Jamie is taking his girlfriend Zoe, 24, to Blackpool this weekend and he will use the rest of his winnings as spending money on a holiday to Turkey in July with a group of 20 friends.
