A Reward Is Being Offered By "We Care" Through Crimestop; $500,000 For Information Leading To The Arrest And Conviction Of The Killer Of Ambassador Peter King

"We Care", Life is precious is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion for the love of life, and the creation of a safer and healthier Jamaican Community. Due to our mission we find it imperative to capture the killer (s) of Ambassador Peter King so that he may never kill again and/or cause further harm to our fragile society.

(PRWEB) May 16, 2006 -- For the past few years “We Care”, Life is precious, has watched the Island of Jamaica get from bad to worse when it comes to crime and violence, and with the brutal killing of Ambassador Peter King we feel it time that we step in-instead of standing to the side- and assist as much as humanly possible to bring this killer (s) to justice.

The $500,000 reward is divided into two equal parts. Half ($250,000) is payable upon the arrest and charge of a suspect. The other half ($250,000) is payable if the suspect is convicted.

We are not helping because the Ambassador was famous. Our efforts are done purely to help create a secure environment for all Jamaicans, gay, straight, and the in betweens.

We are especially interested in the Ambassador’s case because of his profile, the way in which he was assassinated, and the loss to Jamaica’s potential earnings without his expertise.

We Care will continue, even after the Ambassador's killer (s) are caught, its efforts in helping to bring violent criminals to justice in Jamaica through whatever assistance we can provide the police force. We are committed to this case and plan to commit more financial resources if necessary to bring the Ambassador’s killer (s) to justice.

In its efforts “We Care” placed an advert with the Star, and will continue placing the reward adverts until the killer is caught. Our contact in Jamaica is Mrs. P. Gentle at Crimestoppers, and funds have been deposited with the National Crime Prevention Fund. We hope to make future deposits to the fund for the Ambassador’s killer (s), and for future cases.

“We Care” is providing financial incentive for the public to give information that can lead to the killer’s arrest and charge/conviction. We are not working in contrary to the authorities, and want to express that we are here to help them bring this killer to justice, and to help the police maintain their image of effectiveness in a time when crime seems to be over running the country.

Additionally, in talking to many Jamaicans it is a popular consensus that the law enforcement agencies are not trusted by the citizens, nor are they considered an effective police force by said citizens. It is therefore our belief that the Police force needs to regain the community's (Jamaica) trust. The Jamaican Constabulary force must become more people friendly, and more sensitive to the needs of the community in which they serve. It is counter-productive if the people considers the police force the enemy instead of their protection from the criminals. The Jamaican Constabulary Force must begin to forge a different kind of relationship with the people they police, and the community must realize that you are paying the police's salary they are the one's that you should trust and rely on for protection and security, and not the criminals. The community shares the responsibility and must also take the initiative to create a safer and healthier environment because the police cannot do it by themselves.

To squash the crime crisis in Jamaica the police and law abiding citizens in the community must learn how to work together.

“We Care”, consists of over 100 members throughout the United States of America and Jamaica. Our members are predominantly Jamaicans who grew up in a Jamaica that allowed them to be children (could play in the streets while election was going on without any worries of losing our lives), and today we find it difficult to even visit based on the unsafe environment (1,600 last year and over 400 so far). These numbers are astounding and deserve careful attention.

“We Care” is not a gay activist organization nor are we subscribers of any such organizations. “We Care” is not affiliated with the deceased, and is not worried that we will be labeled a gay organization since we’ve made it clear that we are not representative of any such organization. We are more worried about people being killed and people getting away with the murder.

Again, we do not care about people’s sexual preference because we are smart enough to know that no one can dictate a person’s sexual preference. It is useless and nonsensical to call yourself hunting and killing people for their sexual preference. If a person is secured in his/her sexuality then it does not matter what the next person wants to be.

“We Care”, Life is Precious, was formed as a response to the over run of crime and violence in Jamaica and the Ambassador’s killing is the straw that broke the camel’s back.
