Richmond, VA (PRWEB) May 16, 2006
The Yamin Machine! fan site went live on Monday, May 8 to provide a forum for fans to access current information relating to Elliott Yamin, who is now one of the top three finalists in the American Idol® contest. An e-mail contact form (YaMessage) was made available on the Web site to send messages to Elliott. Since Monday, over 1,800 messages have been received by Elliott or the Web site management team from fans around the globe.
Not long after the Web site was activated, Steffanie Lynch, the Web site manager, noticed that a number of messages were coming from countries outside of the U.S., including Brazil, Venezuela, the U.K., Canada, Germany and others. Then she received a photo of a young man who was stationed in Balad, Iraq sitting on an Iraqi tank and holding up a sign which reads, "Vote for Elliott!!!!"
"I was very happy to see that Elliott had such a following", said Lynch. "They all expressed how much they loved his voice and were looking forward to hearing him on the CD or watching him perform on the American Idols tour -- if they can make it over to the U.S. to see him." Elliott will participate in the American Idols Live Tour 2006 which is scheduled to hit approximately 40 cities this summer. And following the tour, Elliott's family and fans hope he will use his amazing voice to become a successful recording artist.
The Web site this week will begin with a segment titled "Vote Like YaManiac On Tuesday!" which will provide tips to fans on voting for their Idol.
As has been reported in numerous blogs and in the media, the American Idol® voting process can be a bit confusing and unfair if the fans do not understand the rules and the procedures. For instance, some voters do not know how to send text messages or how to efficiently vote multiple times. And text message votes are not counted if they are not sent from a Cingular subscriber. After learning about how Raleigh North Carolina fans of Clay Aiken experienced problems with busy phone lines, the Richmond Virginia fans of Elliott Yamin want to make sure everyone knows how to best get their votes in so they count. This segment will provide the information to help Elliott's fans vote effectively.
Fans can also download one of the t-shirt transfers provided to print and iron onto their shirts to show support for Elliott. The colorful graphics were created by Canadian artist Michela Alessi.
A colorful flyer displaying Alessi's artwork titled, "Vote Like Yamin It!" is also available to download and distribute.
Everyone who is a fan of Elliott's is encouraged to visit the new Web site at http://YaminMachine.com to review the tips on voting and to leave a message for Elliott to let him know how you will be voting for him this Tuesday after he performs his three songs -- one song picked by Paula Abdul, one selected by Clive Davis, and the third a selection of Elliott's.
Links are provided to the diabetes organizations which Elliott supports in the greater Richmond Virginia area, should fans wish to make a contribution online to fight juvenile and adult-onset diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association®, there are 20.8 million children and adults in the United States, or 7% of the population, who have diabetes. While an estimated 14.6 million have been diagnosed with diabetes, unfortunately, 6.2 million people (or nearly one-third) are unaware that they have the disease. Elliott has stated that one of his goals in life is to educate people about the disease, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation has recognized him for his efforts in doing just that.
