Add-A-Tubes™ is a cool new product for the shower that appeals to people of all ages. It consists of a tubular mesh exfoliating bag filled with tubular handmade glycerin soap in bright colors and terrific fragrances.
Explains Cindy Helgason, owner of Soapourri, and creator of Add-A-Tubes™, “I’d been selling these bags for awhile, and loved them for their exfoliating and practicality. One day, I got the idea (in the shower, of course) to let people design their own fragrances by using small tubes of soap in different scents, that would combine inside the bag. After all, why should celebrities and soap makers have all the fun?”
Helgason used ‘teens and ‘tweens to test Add-A-Tubes. They were targeted because they are at the age where they like to begin making choices about their personal care, and the ability to be creative with their own fragrances was attractive to them. However, she has since found that Add-A-Tubes appeals to a wide range of people. People like to buy them for themselves, their mothers, their daughters, their sons, especially because they are so practical. They reduce the risk of slipping in the shower -- no slippery soap or drippy gel, and the exfoliating is great for everyone.
But the fun comes when it is time to choose your ‘tubes from the six different fragrance collections available: Fancy, Flowery, Foody, Fruity, Fresh, and Funky. Funky contains scents such as Bay Rum ‘n’ Lime and Patchouli -- and, in response to the teens and tweens that tested them, scents such as Ocean (colored red) and Vanilla (colored black).
States Helgason, “With 34 fragrances to choose from, there are an unlimited number of combinations possible. Most people choose from between 5 and 8 tubes for their bag. We have had great success mixing flowers with fruits, and certain scents such as Ocean, Plumeria and Vanilla seem to go well with everything. Of course, we don’t mind if people simply want to choose all of one scent!”
The glycerin soap used in Add-A-Tubes™ is found by many people to be far superior to regular name brand soaps found in the grocery store. “People are always surprised at the difference that they can feel in their skin after using Soapourri glycerin soap,” continued Helgason.
Soapourri is a 7-year old handmade bath and body products company located in the Midwest. They sell online and in person to consumers and retail stores, both in the United States and Japan.
