Community Season exists for one reason—to encourage individuals and families to get up off the couch and get involved, whether it’s participating in a softball league, camping at a community park, volunteering for a civic organization, attending camp, and so on
St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) May 17, 2006 ––
Community Season, a national provider of Web-based management tools, has announced the launch of its new name and identity for its leading technology solution. Rumpus is not only the new name for its existing product suite, but signifies an expanded, broader solution of capabilities and functionality designed specifically for nonprofits, park and recreation departments, camps, faith-based groups, corporations and one-time special events.
“Community Season exists for one reason—to encourage individuals and families to get up off the couch and get involved, whether it’s participating in a softball league, camping at a community park, volunteering for a civic organization, attending camp, and so on” said Phil Sykes, CEO of Community Season, the developer of Rumpus. “Rumpus brings ‘us’ together. Every organization creates their own ‘rumpus’ or reason to gather. Community Season simply offers a tool to easily make it happen for the sponsoring organization.”
The launch of Rumpus is significant because while Community Season’s original Web-based solution exclusively served park and recreation organizations by helping them manage processes such as registration and membership management, the enhanced Rumpus offers new features including facility management and advanced donation management. What that translates to is an expanding market scope.
“The new functionality of Rumpus not only allows our existing customers to have enhanced administrative capabilities right at their fingertips, it also allows us to reach and support a new population of organizations,” said Sykes. A new fee structure and improved customization allows the leading technological solution to be a feasible option for nonprofits, community education, sports, camps, community and corporate events, faith-based entities, and other community-serving organizations.
How does it work? Rumpus helps park and recreation and other organization administrators keep track of all of the activities that go on within their facilities. Because the tool is Web-based, it is convenient and accessible from any location and includes a forum so users can interact.
Rumpus helps manage facility bookings, scheduling and facility performance, and helps to cut down on administrative time for scheduling activities. Future phases of the solution include accepting online payments for facility and resource reservations. Eventually, the full functionality of the solution will present additional income-generating opportunities while maximizing the use of facilities and other resources.
But Community Season isn’t just assuming Rumpus is a realistic option for a new and expanding market; it’s asking them.
Partnering with a graduate student researcher from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Community Season is conducting a six-month research study with nonprofits nationwide to determine the effectiveness of its Web-based tools and obtain measurable, meaningful feedback from participants.
“The study offers as a great way for nonprofits to test out our management solution, and allows us to obtain meaningful feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of our offerings,” said Sykes. The nonprofit research study began May 1, 2006, with nonprofit organizations representing health care, advocacy, education, social services and the arts.
To respond to the growing demand in the marketplace, Community Season also recently hired three new Business Development Managers.
“It was important for us to mindfully grow our sales team to best support our clients,” said Sykes. “Collectively, our newest team members bring 60 years of experience with leading companies and industries. We are looking forward to leveraging this experience to align community needs with our technologies and form stronger partnerships with community-based organizations.”
The launch of Rumpus also coincided with the redesign of Community Season’s corporate Web site http://www.communityseason.com.
