Airline Seating Travel Website LoveMySeat.com Rejects Seatguru's Copyright Claims Against Airplane Seating Chart and Seat Review Website

Seattle firms alleges copyright infringement by LoveMySeat.com. Seatguru claims LoveMySeat.com is confusingly similar. Publishes airline seat ratings and seat selection tool.

Defending the right to publish airline seat location reviews, seating charts, research, rankings and Seat Comfort Scores™ for leading domestic and international airlines, http://www.LoveMySeat.com and it’s owner Consumer Travel Research Systems, Inc. announced today it will vigorously defend itself against claim’s of copyright infringement from SeatGuru.com, Inc.

On May 1, 2006, SeatGuru.com filed a civil action in United States Federal Court (#2:06-cv-0500-JCM-GWF) demanding LoveMySeat.com refrain: (1) from using the copyrighted material registered by SeatGuru.com or any substantially and confusingly similar phrases, images or trade dress in connection with the offering of their services; (2) from representing by words or conduct that Defendants are authorized, sponsored or otherwise connected with Seatguru.com; and (3) from any other conduct which causes, or is likely to cause, confusion, mistake, deception, or misunderstanding as to the source, affiliation, connection or Association of Seatguru.com’s services.

LoveMySeat.com is a consumer travel web site focused on airline travel on airlines such as United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines and Northwest Airlines. The site provides original consumer information, articles, news and destination guides geared toward airline travelers. The website’s key feature is the Airline Seat Comfort Scorecard™ Tool, licensed from SeatScoreCard.com and International Travel Advisors, LLC.

The LoveMyseat.com website contains original airline seat comfort research including; Seat Comfort Scores™ -- 1 to 10 Seat Comfort Score compares location to all other airplanes; Seat Comfort Maps with Ratings™ -- Detailed, color-coded airplane seat maps; Best and Worst Seat Comfort Locator Tool ™ -- Instantly identify the five top and bottom rated seat locations on 300 airplanes from over 70 Airlines. Reports cover Boeing, Airbus and other major airplane types.

LoveMySeat.com relies on the original research and content from http://www.seatscorecard.com. Researchers analyze multiple sources to find the best airplane interior, seat comfort, and in-flight service information available. All available research data is evaluated using the Airplane Seat Comfort Scorecard™ System. Airplane Seat Comfort Reports™ are created that include seat reviews, seat ratings, seat scores, aircraft interior information, best and worst seats, and in-flight service summaries.

The court documents claim that LoveMySeat.com “used Seatguru.com’s copyrighted materials to develop substantially and confusingly similar web sites”.
