Knoxville, TN (PRWEB) May 17, 2006 -- ACCSS Technologies (www.accsstech.net), a leading provider of professionally managed information technology systems, specializing in security and communications for small businesses, announced their security offerings designed specifically for the small business. These services protect the business at the network and desktop level from spyware and viruses. The daily monitoring, maintenance and updates are seamlessly and automatically performed behind the scenes. Similar to their other IT services, the security offerings allow small and emerging businesses to experience cost-effective IT services normally reserved for use in large corporations.

According to two recent studies, one from software giant Symantec Corp. and the other from the Small Business Technology Institute, the nation's small businesses are more vulnerable to cyber attacks now than at any time in the past. The increasing adoption of networking and mobile computing combined with a cyber class of criminals who steal computer data have put the small businesses at risk. In addition, most small businesses have underinvested or improperly installed security solutions.

“Many small and medium-sized businesses are not protected – they may or may not have installed some sort of desktop security software. We have found that 3 things contribute to their vulnerability. First, improper and conflicting installations; then not continuously updating the protection and finally misunderstanding the frequent security pop-ups, says Glynn Ragland, CEO of ACCSS Technologies. “Our service takes out all the guesswork and helps the companies focus on their business and not worry about technology security.”

Frustrated by a lack of tools to help small businesses to experience cost-effective IT support normally reserved for use in large corporations, Ragland founded the consulting company in 2004. With the recognized need for security in small businesses, he has recently added the security component that includes spyware and virus protection for the desktop and network.
