Upper Marlboro, MD (PRWEB) May 18, 2006
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) today announced it is organizing a Day of Action to be held in Washington, D.C. on May 17, 2007.
“In an era of unprecedented political arrogance, destructive trade policies and corporate greed, American workers are the victims,” said IAM International President Tom Buffenbarger. “For too many people, the American dream has become a nightmare."
The event will take place on The Mall in Washington, D.C. For more information about the IAM’s 2007 Day of Action and how you can participate, visit http://www.17May07.org.
“The Machinists Union urges all individuals and organizations who are fed up with increasing costs of healthcare, the loss of earned pensions, environmental abuses, and exploitation of civil and human rights to join us in Washington, D.C. one year from today when we collectively say ‘Enough is Enough,’” said IAM General Vice President Robert Roach, Jr.
The IAM is one of the largest trade unions in North America, representing nearly 720,000 active and retired members in the U.S. and Canada. More information about the Machinists Union is available at http://www.goiam.org.
