Wyoming, MI (PRWEB) May 20, 2006 -- Karla Kellum was a single mom for nine years and during the latter years she began to write mostly lyrics, in fact, she created a total of sixteen songs. It all began when she joined her Church Choir. Standing in the midst of all the beautiful harmonies such an inspiration broke forth that she wrote all of her songs within a six-month period. The only prior musical training she had was three months of piano lessons and whatever music classes that was taught in school. The music just “had to get out” so she bought a keyboard and began plunking notes out by ear.

Her songs are filled with the hope, which came from the faithfulness of God during the tough times. He never left her, He was always her strength when she was weak. She didn't realize just how much so, until she remarried again and reflected back on her life. God is faithful and He cares.

Most of her poems came to life through the creation of her website at www.Godsjewel.com. Godsjewel.com was designed to encourage others who are hurting and help them to see themselves as God sees them, “precious and with a purpose”. She believes she was put in different circumstances so that she could one day encourage others and help them through the same thing.

She recently has been nominated for “Poet of the Year” by the International Society of Poets and has accepted a position as a “Poetry Ambassador.” She has two poems that will be published in an Anthology Collection. One by “The International Library of Poetry” and one by the “League of American Poets.”
