Affordable Housing Portal Launched To Assist Homebuyers In Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough Counties

After attending the Workforce/Affordable Housing program hosted by the Pinellas Realtor Organization on May 5, 2006 and spending considerable time in the field with first time homebuyers and others looking for affordable housing in the Tampa Bay area, Local Keller Williams Realtor®, Tara Jacobsen, saw the need for a centralized location where consumers could go to find housing that is available for purchase in the lower price ranges.

“Attending that conference was a real eye-opener for me,” stated Jacobsen. “There are so many programs available to assist First Time Homebuyers and others who just need a little assistance or education in order to be able to get into that first house.”

According to the PRO Home Sales Report for May 2006, there were 151 sales of Single Family three bedroom homes under $200,000 from February 1, 2006-February 28, 2006. During that same time period there were a total of 489 Single Family three bedroom homes sold, with the under $200K sales representing just 30.87% of the homes sold. The median sales price for that same timeframe was $245,000.
