The DC Disability Community Mayoral Forum will be a Mayoral candidates’ forum focused on issues impacting residents with disabilities. Voter education and registration will also take place.

What:    The DC Disability Community Mayoral Forum will be a Mayoral candidates’ forum focused on issues impacting residents with disabilities. Voter education and registration will also take place.

Sponsor: The Disability Rights Host Committee

Candidates: As of May 18, 2006 candidates who have confirmed their participation are David Bloem, Stuart Brierre, Michael Brown, Linda Cropp, Adrian Fenty, Marie Johns, and Vincent Orange, Sr.

Moderator: Jerry Phillips, Radio Host, Metro Talk

When: Thursday, June 15, 2006
Doors open at 6 p.m.
Program – 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Where:    True Reformer Building, Lankford Auditorium
1200 U Street, NW
Washington, DC

This forum is likely to be the only forum where the candidates hoping to become the next mayor of the District of Columbia will extensively discuss issues impacting the DC disability community. ALL are invited. Prepare and plan now to attend and hear what the candidates have to say about issues impacting individuals with disabilities.

The Disability Rights Host Committee includes DC residents with disabilities from all eight Wards, as well as DC community organizations that provide advocacy, education and services for individuals with disabilities and their families.
