Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) Product Achieves a Certified Interface with ProQA

Winston-Salem, N.C. (PRWEB) May 22, 2006 -- InterAct Public Safety Systems, a leading provider of public safety and homeland security technology solutions used by local, state, national and international government agencies, today announced that their Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system has achieved a Certified Interface with ProQA, the medical, fire and police dispatch software provided by Priority Dispatch Corporation.

Priority Dispatch Corporation (PDC) is a research company that uses a comprehensive systems approach. They are the only dispatch system provider with an in-house research and development organization and the approval of a recognized body of industry experts National Academy of Emergency Dispatch. Priority Dispatch only supports those dispatching products running on a Certified Interface and has stringent requirements for certification.

There are three levels of integration that a dispatching system must go through for PDC’s ProQA product – Certified, Integrated and Operative. Previously, InterAct was on “Integrated” status but has recently completed all requirements to be granted “Certified” status. Only 19 U.S. vendors have achieved a Certified Interface with PDC, and only five of those, including InterAct, are certified for use with all three ProQA protocols – medical, fire and police systems.

Priority Dispatch’s focus on developing a certified and seamless integration to a CAD system is to enhance the two products and enable everyone to more effectively utilize standardized call-taking within the client’s environment. By providing a Certified Interface, the end-user can rest assured that the two products will perform to the high standards required in the industry.
