Colorado Producers Jim Sawatzki and Jan C.J. Jones Receive International Telly Award for Outstanding Video

Recipients of the 27th Annual Telly Awards have been announced. With a record 12,500 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, local co-producers Jim Sawatzki (Palmer Divide Productions) and Jan C.J. Jones (Forest Rose Productions, LLC) were the recipients of a Telly Award for co-producing the Tri-Lakes Today series segment featuring "The School in the Woods" located in Black Forest, Colorado.

Monument, CO (PRWEB) May 22, 2006 -- Recipients of the 27th Annual Telly Awards have been announced. With a record 12,500 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, local co-producers Jim Sawatzki (Palmer Divide Productions) and Jan C.J. Jones (Forest Rose Productions, LLC) were the recipients of a Telly Award for co-producing the Tri-Lakes Today series segment featuring "The School in the Woods" located in Black Forest, Colorado.

Producer/Director Jim Sawatzki is owner-operator of Palmer Divide Productions located near Larkspur, CO. Sawatzki has produced over a dozen documentaries on local and regional historic topics including, the "Treasure of Cripple Creek'' that received an Emmy nomination and was shown nationally on A&E Biography Channel. Currently, Sawatzki is producing a second show on Palmer Lake titled "Summer's Sojourn," a history of Glen Park and the 1st Rocky Mountain Chautauqua [assembly]. Upon learning that the segment had received a Telly Award. Jim was taken by surprise. "My colleague [Jones] had entered this competition unbeknownst to me, so it was a double surprise. I hope this award will attract more sponsors which will help me preserve more of our local history."

Producer/Editor Jan C.J. Jones, co-owner and co-executive producer of Forest Rose Productions, LLC is a national award winning researcher-writer specializing in writing for visual media. Jones has researched, written, produced, directed and edited a myriad of visual products at the local, regional, national and international level, working with the Kennedy Center's Imagination Celebration, the Sports Corp's "Colorado Springs Festival of the Arts in Sport," the U.S. Skating Museum & Hall of Fame, as well as the Walt Disney Company. Forest Rose Productions is currently in the midst of producing the pilot for a new series, featuring a renown wildlife artist & adventurer, ArtSafaris with Ray Shaw. Jones remarked, "Receiving a Telly Award is incredible. My partner [in Forest Rose Productions] has won at least 10 of them, and now I have one for my desk. It's gratifying to have work recognized at this level."
