Matthew Gilbert Named Brandchannel’s Editor
Brandchannel, the world’s only online exchange about branding, announces the appointment of Matthew Gilbert as its editor, effective immediately.
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 24, 2006 -- Brandchannel, the world’s only online exchange about branding, announces the appointment of Matthew Gilbert as its editor, effective immediately.
Gilbert succeeds Robin Rusch, who accepted the position of CEO at BrandWizard, a digital brand asset management agency. Gilbert is the second person appointed to this position since brandchannel’s launch five years ago. He oversees the editorial direction of the magazine, which draws over 400,000 unique visitors a month and 83,000 subscribers from over 125 countries. As founding editor, Rusch will continue to work with brandchannel on an advisory basis during the transition.
“The world’s only online exchange about branding was a brave experiment; the goal was to offer an independent voice to educate the public on a topic we feel passionately about: branding. To that end, I think we’ve managed well,” said Rusch. “But the challenge in life is to improve, and, therefore, we’ve hired a new editor who can build on the work we started years ago. Matt brings an incredible amount of energy, ideas and a fresh perspective that will breathe new life into the magazine.”
“Brandchannel’s mission is clear: provide the world with a forum for thought-provoking content about brands and branding. Robin spent the past six years developing a magazine that does just that,” said Gilbert. “I am excited to take up where she left off and advance this mission with content that will continue to challenge our readers for years to come.”
Prior to joining brandchannel, Gilbert worked for over five years at Court TV, where his responsibilities included editing high-profile case reports and contributing articles to www.courttv.com; his work has also been published on www.cnn.com and www.FOXSports.com. He lives in New York City.
