Kaseya® Announces Version 4.6 with Real-Time Monitoring
New features for the Kaseya IT framework and expanded managed service offerings at no additional charge.
St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands (PRWEB) May 24, 2006 -- Kaseya International Limited, a leading provider of IT Managed Services software that opens up IT automation to highly distributed enterprises and IT Managed Service Providers, announced today Version 4.6 of the Kaseya IT Framework for the Enterprise and Managed Service Provider Editions with availability mid-second quarter. Packed with new features, functions and enhancements, Version 4.6 is one of the most extensive update releases to date. Not only does Version 4.6 contain a wealth of new features and enhancements to the existing functionality, it also contains a major new function, Real-Time Monitoring, as a core component of the framework.
The cornerstone of the Kaseya IT Framework is that it provides full visibility and proactive automated management of the network servers, workstations and remote users. With Version 4.6, this visibility and management has been extended to the entire network infrastructure with the addition of the Real-Time Monitoring component. With Real-Time Monitoring, administrators can discover, view, manage and monitor network infrastructure devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, printers and other SNMP enabled devices. Real-Time Monitoring also includes performance, process and service monitoring for any managed computer. Real-Time Monitoring boasts powerful features for alarm configuration, thresholds and trending along with a strong visual orientation that includes user configurable dashboards, quick status performance indicators and a unique Live Connect function that allows administrators to view real-time graphs that display information from any performance object such as a CPU, memory, disk or network interface, on a server or workstation.
In addition to the Real-Time Monitoring, Version 4.6 has several enhancements for other core functions such as Patch Management, Alerts, IT Business Process Automation, Reports, System Configuration and System Management. The Kaseya Backup and Disaster Recovery module will receive a host of enhancements and new features to provide more flexibility for off-site replication, backup image creation and retention along with a new feature for automated and unattended system restoration. The new features and enhancements provide the basis for a world class backup and disaster recovery system.
“We have been beta testing Version 4.6 and based upon the product features and the company itself, no one else really has what Kaseya does,” said Tom Beckman, Managed Services Director for Infinity Business Systems, a MSP in Tampa Florida. “Deployment to our clients is simple and it takes little effort to get Kaseya working. Integration of the Real-Time Monitoring functionality along with the visual nature of the tool really surprised us. We originally thought the dashboards would be good for marketing to our customers. However, as we started getting deeper into the functionality, we saw that we could easily tailor the dashboards to meet the needs of our engineers and they now use them extensively for managing client networks. Overall our experience with Kaseya from sales through support has been excellent. Based on what we see with Version 4.6, our current monitoring solution from another vendor has a very short lifespan within our organization.”
“Version 4.6 of the Kaseya Managed Service Provider Edition represents a significant step forward for the IT Managed Service Provider(MSP) looking to tie Network Operations Center (NOC) functionality into an integrated framework for the delivery of remote, policy-based, automated IT delivery as provided by Kaseya,” notes Gerald Blackie, CEO of Kaseya. “With our Real-time Monitoring solution the IT MSP can dispense with standalone monitoring “point solutions” and, in the process, have NOC alarms and alerts tied directly to the automated IT processes available in the Kaseya IT Framework. This simplifies the IT service delivery model significantly and provides for a single, web-based console from which the NOC / Service Desk can monitor the status and trends of key IT assets without the need to have a person respond to such alarms if remediation can be achieved by an IT business process. Version 4.6 also brings the same NOC functionality to Kaseya Enterprise Edition users.”
