Internet Company Continues to Design Research Tools Specifically for Artists

The Web’s number one financial and career planning site for artists launches WebDirectoryForArtists.com, TheArtrepreneur.com, and an RSS feed.

Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) May 24, 2006 – The Pauper, an internet portal for the “starving artist,” today announces the launch of two new websites to better help those struggling artists get the tools and resources they need to become successful. They are: http://www.WebDirectoryForArtists.com and http://www.TheArtrepreneur.com. These are websites artists are going to want to bookmark, not simply because the names are long, but because they’re indispensable tools for all artists to get and share the information they need in pursuing their craft. Both are easily accessed through the company’s home site ThePauper.com.

What makes The Web Directory For Artists special is that it was created for artists by artists. It’s where artists share information on the best place to buy paints, where to find the cheapest CD duplicating manufacturers, or the highest quality head shots. The site also has one of the most comprehensive listings of artist non-profit organizations, associations, unions and guilds, and artist educational programs on the web. “We wanted to create a directory where artists could find anything they needed in one place,” says co-founder John Brindle.

But, artists aren’t limited to the one-stop shop Directory. They can also access articles and other helpful information at The Artrepreneur, a brand new webzine that promotes the idea of the artist as entrepreneur. “The name ‘The Pauper’ fit perfectly with the image of the starving artist, who we always wanted to reach, but it didn’t really match with our philosophy of ‘Helping Artists with the Art of Success’, at least from a marketing perspective”, states Mr. Brindle. “So, we came up with the name ‘artrepreneur’, which fit perfectly.” At The Artrepreneur, artists will find informative and inspiring articles on financial and career planning, self-help, and other tools to make the life of an artist more fulfilling.

Artists can also sign up for the RSS feeds, making access to the information at The Pauper easier than ever. States another co-founder, “We envision a future where creativity plays the central role in life. To that end, we’re establishing the foundation.”

The Pauper began as a place where artists could receive simple career and financial planning information, but has blossomed into a community. Good news still, the company plans to steadily increase the free tools available to artists, keeping their vow to give artists a strong voice in the world. States another founder, “We’re dedicated to the artistic community, and that community has something to say.”
