Brothers-in-Law Matt Bell and Boyd Corley became business as well as family partners in 2001 by pooling their personal savings to start a general contracting company. In five years, they've built Bell-Corley Construction literally from the ground up to $22+ million in sales. Entreprenuer magazine ranks the Bell-Corley team's efforts as 27th on the Hot 100 fastest growing US companies for 2006. They're the only Arkansas company on the list.

Bell-Corley Construction Company, a leader in commercial construction and construction management, has been recognized in Entrepreneur magazine and PricewaterhouseCoopers’ 12th Annual Hot 100 for 2006, the yearly ranking of America’s fastest-growing new businesses. The only Arkansas-based business on the list, Bell-Corley Construction ranked 27th. This year's honorees cross a wide spectrum of industries from technology to business services to staffing firms.

Drawing on multiple data sources, including the proprietary “MoneyTree Report” of venture capital investing by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association, with data from Thomson Financial, PricewaterhouseCoopers provides Entrepreneur magazine with an initial list of fast-growing companies. Entrepreneur magazine mails each company a questionnaire that the company principals must complete and submit along with current financial statements. Each company’s sales growth is measured from the date of inception, creating a listing of businesses in growth order.

Each business must have been founded no earlier than 2001; the founder must be actively involved in daily operations and have a controlling interest in the business; annual 2005 sales must be at least $1 million; and the company must have fewer than 1,000 employees. More than 27,000 US-based businesses were initially eligible for consideration.

Brothers-in-law Matt Bell and Boyd Corley started Bell-Corley Construction with personal savings of about $100,000. In just 5 years, they have built the business to more than $24 million in sales in 2005 and now employ almost 50 people. Arkansas Business, the state’s leading business publication, named Bell-Corley Construction as a Finalist for “Arkansas Business of the Year” in 2004 and 2005.

“We are honored to be named 27th on Entrepreneur’s Hot 100 Companies in America,” said Matt Bell, CEO of Bell-Corley Construction. “As the only Arkansas-based company recognized, we are especially proud. We’re literally building our business from the ground up with a talented and dedicated team. Always putting our customers first is our ‘success secret.’ In return, our satisfied customers call on us for their future projects and recommend us to other companies.”

Entrepreneur reports that technology led industry sectors with 22 of the 100 companies listed. This year's Hot 100 companies report $1.7 billion in total sales, and 6,920 employees.
