Ex-felon Ex drug dealer goes to federal prison for 12 years gets out and turns his life around by starting a clothing line and shortly after writing a book.

On January 2, 2002 after serving 12 of a 13 year Federal sentence for Continuing Criminal Enterprise, Distribution of Cocaine into the United States and Money Laundering, Byron Davenport, a Los Angeles native was released and he was determined never to go back.

Six months later in June, he scrapped together enough money to design and launch his his brand Gangster Affiliated.

By August 2004, Byron had made more than enough money to buy himself a home and pay the hefty $5,000 registration fee to exhibit Gangster affiliated to the world at the Las Vegas Magic trade show.

What makes this particular brand unique is first it's name. It's strong, tough and direct and the urban community instantly identifies with it just by its name. The word Gangster is popular in the hip hop community and you hear it from kids to young adults to rappers. It always has and will always be a hip thing among our young people. The other unique thing about this brand is it does not endorse, condone or validate any type of violent behavior in any way, shape or form as one may assume. In fact, the graphic design t-shirts that byron and his team designs boast encouraging, provoking, motivating slogans and statements such as Your dream is what you will one day become, By any means necessary, (Stay focused, Stay Thirsty, Stay hungry), All that man achieves and all that he fails to achieves is direct result of his thoughts, and Elevate your game.

And to move things along even more Byron recently self published his book titled The Fundamentals of a Gangster. It not only educates and informs what this brand is about but it also encourages a new way thinking. It breaks down and demystifies what a real gangster is and shows you how to adopt this gangster mindset in a positive, ambitious way which he says can and will help you to secure any and every dream or goal one has. This book is part self-help, part inspiration, part motivation.
