Daly’s Law of Creative, Attacking Soccer Applies Newtonian Physics to the Beautiful Game

As the world’s top soccer managers, coaches and players get ready for the World Cup in Germany, a new soccer coaching website maintains that the experts have got a central element of their soccer coaching wrong and corrects their mistake with its own scientific coaching formula.

London, England (PRWEB) May 25, 2006 -- As the world’s top soccer managers, coaches and players get ready for the World Cup in Germany, a new soccer coaching website maintains that the experts have got a central element of their soccer coaching wrong and corrects their mistake with its own scientific coaching formula.

Daly’s Law Coaching, (http://www.dalyslaw.com) claims to ensure top player performance by correcting conventional soccer coaching’s mistake in seeing ‘weight’ in the movement of a soccer ball as a horizontal force when it is, in fact, a vertical force instead.

Terry Daly’s Law of Creative, Attacking Soccer is based on Newton’s laws of physical force and motion. It states that top creative, attacking player performance starts when the ball is weighted into space, deliberately or accidentally, so that the ball's horizontal pace is controlled by its vertical weight.

Conventional soccer coaching views ‘weight’ and ‘pace’ in the movement of a soccer ball as being one and the same thing, namely horizontal pace. Daly’s Law Coaching, in common with the laws of physics, views ‘weight’ as the rise and drop of the ball ( the mass of the ball multiplied by the acceleration of free fall ) and teaches players to use this vertical weight to control the horizontal pace of their passing, shooting, crossing, heading et al.

In Daly’s Law Coaching the passer of the ball, not the target player, controls the horizontal pace of the pass by using vertical weight. This, in turn, allows the target player an extra split second to prepare or ‘set’ himself properly, both physically and mentally, to deliver top performance.

The target player uses this time to look up and make a decision about what he's going to do even before the ball arrives, and to inhale enough oxygen to execute his decision with explosive power and speed. A split second is a long time in soccer.

Daly’s Law Coaching begins every practice session with unique warm-ups designed to make players expert in manipulating the ball on both the horizontal and vertical planes at one and the same time. It then uses small, medium and large sided practice games as its coaching contexts. ‘Street soccer meets soccer science,’ is how Terry Daly sums up his new soccer coaching.

Terry Daly is a former youth soccer star who has pursued a career in education prior to devoting himself exclusively to his present role as Internet mentor to soccer coaches and players across the world.

Daly’s Law Coaching has already attracted the interest of one English Premier League (EPL) first team coach, an ex-England manager, an ex-Scotland manager, two U21 national team managers, and a host of A and B licensed coaches from around the world.

The Germany 2006 World Cup will continue to reflect conventional soccer coaching’s mistaken view of weight as a horizontal force in the movement of a ball. By the time the next World Cup comes around in 2010, however, Daly’s Law - and its definition of weight as a vertical force - may rule the world of soccer.
