New York Photographer Appointed Senior Moderator on Displayground.com

Long Island photographer John Giovanni Gruttola has been appointed to the position of Senior Moderator on Displayground.com – a unique online community for creative individuals.

A photographer for more than 30 years, John is a highly talented individual with many distinguished works. In addition to being an artist, John is also a cancer survivor. He beat the disease in 2000 after being told he had just six months to live. The experience was both life and career changing.

“My new lease on life saw me take my photography in a new direction,” says John. “My background is in aesthetic and graphic arts, however I am now directing myself towards more artistic endeavors and displaying many of my works in galleries. It is quite a different direction, however I am drawing from a great deal of my prior experiences as an art director, creative director and photojournalist. My involvement on Displayground further encourages and inspires me in my chosen craft and new creative direction.”

New Jersey-based photographer Wil Fernandez launched Displayground.com in April 2006. It is an online creative community for individuals with creative interests ranging from writing and painting, through to scrap booking and musical composition.

“I created Displayground so creative individuals everywhere can be a part of an online community where they can get to know other creative individuals, display their work, receive feedback on their creations and view the works of other creative people,” says Wil. “The unique thing about Displayground.com is that no person is restricted to one area of creative interest. A painter can also be a photographer, and a poet can also be a musician. Creative people often have multiple interests and creative outlets, so Displayground.com is my attempt at giving creative individuals, from beginners to professionals, a platform to showcase their creativity and be inspired.”

Membership to Displayground.com is free, and individuals can join by visiting http://www.displayground.com. Once membership has been approved, members can display audio, video, images and text files of their work on the web site for other members and visitors to view and comment on.
