The 100-hour workshop will cover topics ranging from meso- scale and micro-scale weather forecasting to the use and abuse of numerical weather models. Other topics include forecasting extreme weather events such as record temperatures, flash floods and hurricanes.
Workshop participants will also learn how to forecast for specialized industries, in particular construction, power utilities, agriculture, aviation and the film industry.
There is no minimum educational requirement, but a working knowledge of meteorology is highly desirable because the basic principles of the science will not be covered.
