Northbrook, IL (PRWEB) May 29, 2006 -- "The Cattle,” a work of fiction by author Greg M Sarwa that continues to gain popularity and stir interest in the literary world, has been awarded the 2005 Book of the Year Bronze Medal in Science Fiction by ForeWord Magazine.

… This story takes George Orwell's 1984 to a frightening level...
In "The Cattle," Sarwa gives his readers a brief but sobering glimpse at one possible future for America, a very near future in which high technology and a government-backed dark agenda combine to become the real terror in the battle against terrorism. Written before the passage of HR418 – The Real ID Act of 2005 – Sarwa’s novel examines a logical result of incorporating modern technologies into a comprehensive National Identification System. The world has witnessed nuclear technology used for good and evil, thus the underlying premise of “The Cattle” is horrifyingly plausible. What far-reaching and calamitous effects might be suffered from governmental misuse of RFID chips and scanners, the GPS network, and other advanced information technologies? Might such a threat reach even beyond one nation’s borders? In his book, Sarwa causes his readers to evaluate where the boundaries of personal freedom and privacy meet those of governmental authority and security.

Since its premier at BookExpo America, "The Cattle" (ISBN 0-9766202-1-9) has continued to surpass expectations. The list price of the English-language edition is $23.95 and it is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Books-a-Million, Atlas, Baker & Taylor, and other fine bookstores. A Polish-language edition is also available.
