Northeast Analytical President Establishes the Bob Cerwonka Memorial Scholarship At SUNY Potsdam

Northeast Analytical's (NEA)President Mr. Robert E. Wagner has given a generous donation to the Biology department at the State University of New York at Potsdam. This gift has established and endowed the Bob Cerwonka Memorial Scholarship.

SCHENECTADY NY (PRWEB) May 27, 2006 -- Northeast Analytical, Inc. (NEA) is pleased to announce that its President Mr. Robert E. Wagner has given a generous donation to the Biology department at the State University of New York at Potsdam. This gift has established and endowed the Bob Cerwonka Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Cerwonka was a long-standing faculty member in the biology department. He was a Limnologist, an Ecologist, and founded the Lambda Xi Chapter of the Tri-Beta National Biological Honor Society for the college.

Mr. Wagner, a 1975 graduate of SUNY Potsdam’s biology department, is the Co-Founder and President of NEA a full-service environmental laboratory specializing in high resolution PCB analysis. NEA offers many other analytical testing services, including: PCB Aroclors, Pesticides, Herbicides, Metals, Volatiles (VOCs), and Semi-Volatiles (SVOCs) analyses.

He came from a working class family in Buffalo, NY went to college, worked his way up at GE R&D and moved on to establish a successful small business.” “Even with his success he has not forgotten where he came from and people like Dr. Cerwonka who helped him on his way” said Ann Casey NEA’s Director of Client Services.

The Cerwonka Scholarship has been established to support SUNY Potsdam students who have declared Biology as their major and are in good academic standing. Recipients must demonstrate an interest in and appreciation of the environment. This year’s recipient will receive a $1,000 award for the current academic year.
