"Tom Cruise Is Still My Hero" -- Chinese Girl Speaks Up For Her Role Model
The whole world is against Tom Cruise, except one person.
Los Angeles (PRWEB) May 26, 2006 -- It seems like the whole world is against Tom Cruise, the Hollywood mega-star whose bizarre behavior stirred up the media in the past year -- except one person. Niki Yan, the young girl from China, who has written a book, "My Love For You, Tom Cruise -- A Desperate Chinese Girl's Confession," devoted to the man who changed her life forever.
Yan came from a poor family in China. It's Cruise who inspired her to come to America. "He has a golden heart," is how Yan describes Cruise, the Hollywood actor, whose movie Top Gun initiated her dream when she was nine years old.
From couch jumping to Scientology preaching, from his whirlwind relationship with actress Katie Holmes to the birth of baby Suri, Tom Cruise has been a controversial figure.
"Tom Cruise has been misunderstood so much. He is a beautiful person. He has a pure heart." Yan said, "When I met him on the set of M:I:3, I saw his heart and love for all people, he is the most beautiful person I have ever seen." Tom Cruise invited Niki to the set of M:I:3 after he heard her story.
"I don't care about what people say, to me he is a beautiful spirit. He is a marvelous being with unconditional love for all. I see his inner beauty. I saw his heart, from the very beginning," said Yan.
Niki grew up in a poor village in China. She saw Top Gun when she was a little girl and her life has never been the same since. Now she opens up her heart, and tells her own journey -- a Village girl's American dream -- in her latest book, "My Love For You, Tom Cruise -- A Desperate Chinese Girl's Confession".
"Tom Cruise is inspiration. His love and compassion, faith and determination, courage and responsibility had a big impact in my life," she said. Yan is grateful when she talks about her hero and her role model. "I will always support Tom for who he is."
