(PRWEB) May 28, 2006 -- Indianapolis will send a representative to her sister city, Cologne, for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Bryan Richards will meet with Sister City officials in the Rhine River Valley and chronicle festivities during the international soccer championship. A member of the United States' 1994 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee, Mr. Richards will visit the stadiums in Cologne, Frankfurt, and Munich. He toured stadium renovations at Berlin's Olympic Stadium prior to this trip.
"This is an exciting time for any soccer fan. I am humbled and thrilled to represent Indianapolis, one of the most active soccer communities in the United States," Mr. Richards commented.
On his journey, he will capture first-hand footage of festivities in the streets of Germany, including parades, televised matches in public squares, outdoor concerts, and the celebrations of tens of thousands of soccer fans descending on Germany from nations across the globe. He will present his travelogue in Indianapolis upon his return. Mr. Richards' trip will begin on June 6th and will conclude on June 14th.
This visit will also deepen ties for the Indianapolis-Cologne Sister City program, which has bridged the two cities since 1988. Mr. Richards serves on the organization's steering committee and is the president of Aspen Impact.
