(PRWEB) June 1, 2006 -- Texas Patent Company, exclusive licensee of U.S. Patent Nos. 5,678,292 and 5,957,765 for a hand held oscillating spindle sander, has given Black & Decker a non-exclusive license covering Black & Decker's Portable Oscillating Spindle Sander, resolving the infringement dispute.

Ever wish you could sand the inside edges of your wood surfaces with a nice and even finish? It was to solve that problem that Jill Taylor, Gerd Buchter, and Erich Kimbell developed the idea of a hand held oscillating spindle sander that employed an innovative swash plate mechanism. The mechanism allows a rotating sanding drum mounted at the end of the spindle of the device to slowly oscillate while rapidly rotating, thus allowing for a nice and easy controlled finishing movement.

Texas Patent Company is presently soliciting others big names in the field to employ the technology in a more lightweight version more suited for the DIY market and hobbyists.
