The Westchester Chordsmen Chorus Present “A Musical Extravaganza of Broadway Favorites” June 3 at Pleasantville High School
The Westchester Chordsmen Chorus, an award-winning four part a cappella chorus (www.chordsmen.org), will present “A Musical Extravaganza of Broadway Favorites,” on June 3 at Pleasantville High School, Pleasantville, N.Y. The event will also pay tribute to the importance of music education in schools.
White Plains, NY (PRWEB) June 2, 2006 -- The Westchester Chordsmen Chorus, an award-winning four part a cappella chorus (www.chordsmen.org), will present “A Musical Extravaganza of Broadway Favorites,” on June 3 at Pleasantville High School, Pleasantville, N.Y.
During the event, the Chordsmen will celebrate the importance music education for children by honoring long-time Westchester County music teachers and Chordsmen members Al Fennell of Shrub Oak, N.Y. and Stash Rossi of Katonah, N.Y. Attendees will also enjoy a special performance by a quartet of third grade Barbershop singers from Bedford Road School in Bedford, N.Y where Mr. Fennell teaches. The evening will culminate with a monetary donation to the Pleasantville School District in support of its school-based music programs.

The Westchester Chordsmen Chorus, 501c3 not-for-profit arts membership organization, was founded in 1952 and is the only Westchester Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The Chordsmen currently have 95 members from Westchester County, Western Connecticut, and Long Island who range in ages from 20-to-82. Their repertoire extends beyond barbershop roots and includes Broadway show-tunes, doo-wop, traditional, gospel and contemporary songs arranged in four-part harmony for tenor, lead, baritone and bass singers. The Chordsmen regularly perform for their thousands of local fans in Westchester County and for barbershop lovers around the globe.
