It appears that small town Canadian author Lynda Janzen’s book “The Jewel of Scotland” has struck a chord with readers worldwide.
Kincardine, ON (PRWEB) June 2, 2006 -- It appears that small town Canadian author Lynda Janzen’s book “The Jewel of Scotland” has struck a chord with readers worldwide.
The book is actually based in Kincardine, Ontario as well as other such real life locations as Goderich, Bayfield, and The Highlands of Scotland itself. The book even manages to educate readers about the culture and heritage of Kincardine for readers who aren’t from the area.
The story revolves around fictional single mother Cairn MacRae and a priceless family heirloom handed down through the generations of the MacRae clan. When the object is stolen Cairn is led on a nail-biting search for the thieves. The thieves retaliate by kidnapping Cairn’s daughter and leading her on crusade that culminates with Cairn having to storm an ancient Scottish castle with a mysterious, handsome Toronto Police detective by her side.
The popularity of the book has taken off with Janzen’s growing new fan base in North America and the U.K. Expected to sell in Canada and break into the UK, publisher Open Book Press and the author were both pleasantly surprised when the book took off in the American book market, selling to fans and retailers from New York to San Francisco.
Janzen has been on a whirlwind media tour, making appearances on such radio outlets as: The Lillian Cauldwell show on Internet Voices Radio, The Beach FM in Port Elgin, Bluewater Radio in Hanover, CFOS in Owen Sound, Travel Journal in San Francisco, and more!
Janzen will also be doing interviews with “The Dick Wilson Show” on WSLB-AM in Watertown, New York on June 1st, and on “Arts Magazine” on WBAI-FM based in New York, New York on June 21st. The Jewel of Scotland (ISBN: 0-9735716-6-7) can be purchased at Fincher’s Books in Kincardine and Goderich, as well as online and at finer retailers. The soft cover edition of the Jewel of Scotland (ISBN: 1-897290-18-7) will be released in July 2006.
