New OLAP Grid and OLAP Table capabilities expand analysis options for Business Analysts and Executives.

LogiXML today announces general availability of the new release of its web-based LGX OLAP Reporting. LogiXML offers powerful new capabilities available to new and existing users via simple download. LGX OLAP Reporting now includes OLAP Grid and OLAP Table features as well as the introduction of a powerful tree and heat map explorer to support complex visual analysis. The company maintains an aggressive product development schedule and encourages users and prospective users to suggest additional features to be incorporated into the next release.

LGX OLAP Reporting includes a powerful Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) Engine, which gives analysts easy access to OLAP data sources, such as Microsoft Analysis Services, via their Web browsers. As an analyst selects dimensions and measures or sets filters, LGX OLAP Reporting creates the associated (and optimized) MDX commands dynamically. Features include cube, dimension and measure selection, drilldown, slicing and filtering, sorting, charting, saving of sessions for later viewing, and more.

The new OLAP Grid provides enhanced capability for user interaction with an OLAP cube. As analysts work with an OLAP cube, the OLAP Grid generates MDX commands dynamically and displays the results. The new OLAP Table element is a powerful capability aimed at making it easy for report developers to display OLAP data from their own, handcrafted, MDX commands

Additional powerful features included in the new release are:

·Ability to create calculated cells

·Ability to filter members from left and top axes

·Ability to set smart filters on values to return selected members

·Support for use of LGX security rights to control access to dimensions

·Support for cube-defined cell colors

·Animated flash charts

“We are aggressively enhancing our LGX OLAP Reporting product, just four months following the initial release of the product, as part of our differentiation strategy. It is a critical element of our overall Unified BI Platform,” said Arman Eshraghi, LogiXML CEO. “We believe reporting products achieve their greatest value when they are actually used, so we encourage widespread use of our products within an organization. We lead in both functionality and in a product licensing approach that adds value and we look forward to receiving innovative ideas from users to incorporate into our next release of LGX OLAP Reporting.”

Built on a Unified, Pure Web-based BI Platform

Based on LogiXML's commitment to open and industry standards, LogiXML's MDX Engine uses the XML for Analysis (XML/A) standard. LGX OLAP Reporting is an open, zero footprint, XML-based Web application that works with Microsoft Analysis Services. The connection is setup through the ADOMD MSOLAP provider or XML for Analysis (XML/A). LogiXML’s Unified BI Platform also serves the managed and ad hoc reporting needs of managers, executives and corporate users. LGX OLAP Reporting works with LGX Report, LGX Report Plus, and LGX Info, providing special report design elements to support full-featured OLAP reporting.
