NAID conference showcases new, right sized equipment for Mobile Document Shredding Industry with the launch of new mid sized shredding vehicles.

After years of mobile equipment getting bigger, faster and more expensive, attendees of the NAID Conference in Phoenix were introduced to fresh thinking and true innovation May 14th, 15th and 16th. Axo Shredders Corp launched two entirely new vehicles designed for secure shredding of documents and the first adjustable shred size truck in the world.

The Secure Document Destruction Industry and mobile shredding is expecting continued double digit growth as companies large and small measure their exposure and responsibilities and then outsource this critical service. NAID (National Association for Information Destruction) is the largest industry group representing service providers and manufacturers.

MDS Trucks (Mobile Document Shredding Trucks) have been around since the early 80’s. In their original form, these big clunky trucks required an army of people to operate them. Over 25 years, MDS trucks are now more sophisticated, faster and bigger. Enter Axo, a relatively new name in the mobile equipment end of the secure document shredding industry, with new low cost trucks designed for inner city routes, and two new trucks that do not require Commercial Driver’s Licenses.

Dominated by a few large firms and an abundance of regional entrepreneurial operators, the On Site Shredding Services industry had been longing for vehicles that were either flexible in their performance, or right sized for city routes, start up organizations or the increased demand for smaller shred sizes, and higher security features.

Addressing the small market/entry market segment, Axo introduced the new cab over, Axo 408 “Peashooter” designed to allow inner city operators or start up companies to enter the market with a modern, full featured truck. With incredible power to weight characteristics on a small size frame, this is a small truck that packs a big punch. Capable of shredding 2500 lbs. of paper per hour and with a total vehicle weight of 19,500 GVW the MIGHTY MITE can haul over 6000 lbs of shredded paper. No CDL license is required to operate this truck.

For operators seeking flexibility, Axo has created the first hybrid truck that can run on both factory electrical power or generate its own power with its PTO driven generator. The Axo “Generator Hybrid” stands on a 26,000 lb. GVW chassis, can shred over 2500 lbs. per hour, and dumps its load in seconds using Axo’s exclusive live conveyor floor. Due to its weight class, no CDL License is required to operate this truck.

Rounding out the lineup is the Axo “Select”, the first truck that can change shred size at the push of a button. This incredible, simple to operate shredding plant on wheels, is the clear leader in everything the mobile industry has asked for. With high volume throughput of 5000 lbs. + per hour, payload of 10,000 lbs. integrated vision systems, universal lift capacity and now Select-a-Shred, the Select is at the head of the class in the full sized, production truck category.

All Axo trucks share the same DNA with solid cutters, conveyor off load systems, stainless trim and hardware, OSHA compliant safety and Fuel Save Controls.
