The recognition we've received from SD Times and other groups is truly humbling

Atlassian Software Systems today announced that it has won a 2006 SD Times 100 award in the Software Configuration Management and Change Management category. The SD Times award citation stated, "With 3,100 user organizations and a bunch of industry awards in its pocket, this company from Down Under is hopping."

"The winners of this year's SD Times 100 awards have demonstrated their leadership in shaping the software development industry," said David Rubinstein, Editor-in-Chief of SD Times. "We took into account each nominee's products and services, its reputation among development managers, and the new ideas it brought out. These select individuals and organizations are the ones we've identified as helping to move the art of development forward."

In the last year, Atlassian has also been named by BRW Magazine as the fastest growing software company in Australia, and Deloitte recognized Atlassian in their annual roundup of fastest growing companies in Asia Pacific. Atlassian continues to grow quickly:

  •      Over 3,000 customers use Atlassian JIRA, the professional issue tracker and over 1,300 organisations use Atlassian Confluence, the enterprise wiki, for collaboration and knowledge management
  •      Atlassian's products are used in more than 60 countries
  •      In addition, Atlassian has donated more than 800 free open source and non-profit software licenses
  •      Nearly 200 plugins are now available for JIRA and Confluence thanks to the active Developer Network
  •      Atlassian has offices in Sydney and San Francisco

"The recognition we've received from SD Times and other groups is truly humbling," said Mike Cannon-Brookes, co-founder and CEO at Atlassian. "I attribute our success in part because people are tired of dealing with enterprise software that's too expensive and hard to implement. We've striven to be an 'un-enterprise' software company by building software that customers can customise themselves and offering great support, keeping prices low, and putting users first."
